PAT’S CLAIM TO FAME # 249: I was one of the first reporters to cover Slim Devices’ Squeezebox’ predecessor, SliMP3.

Not much, you may say? Well, that’s just so that you know I’ve been a BIG fan of Slim’s designs from the original, project-board-soldered-on-the-kitchen-table era.

I’m a big fan today, and a happy fan at that, because I can report on Slim Device’s release of a new product for all of you hard-core audiophiles. I can’t (YET!) talk about it in details, but this quote will still apply:

“Over all, you have to love this sweet, satisfying machine. Its creators
have sweated so many details, you want to hand them a towel. Now that CD
players, tape decks and turntables are rapidly disappearing, the Squeezebox
brings us one step closer to the era of the stereo-free stereo.”
