Ok – so after 4 days of hell, I think I am getting the server transfer over and done with. In the process, I discovered that OS X keeps some cache files for Safari that overrules any DNS changes! I spent an hour looking for a HOSt file and deleted the Safari caches in Library is sheer desperation. I was quite happy that this solved the last remaining issue. I needed the sleep…

Siteground, our new host, offers a heck of a lot for so little money; I was a bit worried about that: The pre-sales staff was very helpful, but how would tach support do? I have seen many company very eager to sell you their goods and services, only to be MIA after your money was in their pocket…

No need to worry. They have so far been on top of the game, with a Ticket response time of less than an hour, and usually minutes.
